The Connoisseur’s Wine Club

wcc.jpg So you think you’ve tasted a lot of wine in your time. Well have you ever wondered just how many different grape varietals you’ve actually tasted? I recently stumbled across a wine club that makes you ask yourself that question. The club, and their web site, is called The Wine Century Club. Their purpose is to bring awareness to the many unknown varietals that are out there. Membership is simple - download the application from their web site and check off all the varietals that you have tasted. Then just email, fax or mail the application back to them. Simple right, but theres a small catch…you have to check off at least 100 of the 185 varietals listed. If you manage to this you will become a member and will receive a nice certificate suitable for framing (shown above). I didn’t even realize there were that many varietals.
