Vino Style

My famous saying when it comes to the world of wine is, “Wine is a Lifestyle.” This includes the wine, glasses, corkscrews, bottle stops and decanters, to name a few wine essentials. There is also home decor that lets a person know unequivocally that you are a wine lover. I discovered a grape doorbell cover at napastyle.com, and I am awaiting its arrival. When someone rings my bell, they will know an oenophile lives in this house. Step inside my house and artwork is available for all to see, including a wine cellar.

I really like wine cellars that look like pieces of furniture. It makes a seamless statement in decorating a room for entertaining and sipping wine. I have found a wonderful piece at howardmiller.com—yes, the clock manufacturer. They have a line of wine-related furniture. So, if the people who make clocks make wine furniture, wine is in style!

The kitchen is a place that people invest big bucks because we love to cook and entertain. Kitchens and baths sell homes, so when staging a home that has a Tuscan flair or wine theme, why not have a whimsical wine bottle holder? I’ve seen them everywhere, even on ebay.com. A touch of whimsy is always good. Life and decorating should not be serious all the time, so buy things that make you laugh or smile.

Going “green” in the wine world has never been so easy. You can make a candelabra out of that old Dom Perignon bottle (smile) and let it be a conversation piece. A dear friend of mine came to visit me and brought two bottles of 1998 “Dom,” as it is affectionately called, for us to celebrate our friendship. The bottles are now empty, but the memory of her visit and the wine bottles remain. I will order a four-arm wine bottle holder from wisteria.com to go “green” in the world of wine.

So, check out some of my suggestions to create that unique wine decor in your home.

Update: The hidden grape doorbell cover arrived, looking just as it did at napastyle.com. The doorbell adds that oenophile style, to your entrance to your home. It says to all that press that bell, an oenophile lives here! I just love it!

Note: If you have an existing doorbell that has a round button, you may already have a hole drilled for the doorbell to be inserted into. If you have a standard doorbell, with the elongated rectangular push button, then you will need to drill a hole for the hidden grape doorbell cover to be installed. But the little work is well worth the beauty of the “grape!”
