Bodegas Alto Almanzora 2006 Este
August 25, 2008 | by Jason Bordley | Reds, Tasting Notes
What can I say? For a wine coming in just under $9, and with a 90 point score from Robert Parker, this wine is definitely a great value wine and a very smart buy.
The wine I am refering to is the Bodegas Alto Almanzora 2006 Este red wine. Produced in the Almanzora Valley (Valle del Almanzora) region of Spain, Este is a combination of Monastrell, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and Merlot. Dark cherry in color, Este releases aromas of black fruits with a hint of herbs lightly poking through. On the palate you are greeted with cherries, black berries, currants, and minerals. Light woody traits, and a balanced mouth feel. Then you are left with a long, fruit filled finish.
This is a highly recommended buy, both by myself and the dozen of reviews you’ll find after a quick Google.
